Have you ever wondered why God doesn't intervene and stop certain tragedies? I know I have.
But there are some things in life God classifies "Need to Know Only," and God is the only One Who needs to know because certain "secret things belong to the LORD our God"
(Deuteronomy 29:29).
Some things on earth seem random and unnecessary to our human minds, and during our days on earth, we may never see the reasons behind them. But we have faith, and faith is not only "confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1). It's also confidence and hope in what we do not understand.
One day all of our questions will be answered (1 Corinthians 13:12). Until then we walk by faith, holding on to this wonderful promise from God:
"We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
God felt that was something we need to know, and something we need to believe. Do you know it? Do you believe it?

Hey Gail, I just wanted to let you know that I have really been enjoying your devotions lately- especially when you talk about holiness, consecration, and suffering. It's been a blessing and I just wanted to let you know, since, although I often forward them on to people. I never come here to comment, so you don't know! Have a great day :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Emily. I'm always encouraged to hear that something I write is blessing someone. And it's a blessing to hear that people like to hear the "hard stuff"--I think it's such an important aspect for us to embrace along with the wonder of Christ's love.
DeleteThanks and have a blessed day,
Gail
