Jesus Isn't Looking for Silent Partners

If we think we can be "Silent Partners" when it comes to our faith, we're mistaken. This devotion offers wisdom.

Businesses sometimes have silent partners who help fund their operations without taking responsibility for the business.

“The primary benefits of being a silent partner is the ability to earn investment returns with limited involvement and being in a position of limited liability for any financial obligations of the business.” (source

Jesus isn't looking for silent partners for His kingdom.

He wants involvement, responsibility, and eager obligation from His followers. He wants us to live our faith out loud:

1. Letting our light shine.
Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.Matthew 5:16

2. Living our faith full-time.
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. 2 Timothy 4:2

3. Refusing to lose our "flavor."
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.Matthew 5:13

4. Denying ourselves, following our Lord.
Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.Mark 8:34
