How Good and Evil Prove God is Good

Some people claim God doesn't exist because He wouldn't allow evil things. By saying this they prove there is a God and He is good.

Some people claim that if God actually existed, He'd stop all evil. But
when they say this, they're proving God exists.

Let me explain.

If there was no God, we'd never talk of good and evil. If we were mere products of evolution, we'd judge all things by survival. Evolution is based on survival of the fittest, not survival of the good.

God gives us clear evidence of His existence:

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.  For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” Romans 1:18-20

Right and wrong are part of human thinking because they are part of God’s divine nature. That’s why we naturally assume that if there is a good God, He must hate evil. And without understanding the Gospel, we assume He will stop all evil if He is good. Of course, God could have stopped all evil by getting rid of the human race when Adam and Eve sinned. And He could kill each one of us when we sin.

Instead, He sacrificially offers to pay for our sins at His expense. That’s the highest form of good. And only a fool would reject such love.
