Christians need regular fellowship with God, but we also need regular fellowship with other believers. We build a sense of community when we “rejoice with those who rejoice [and] mourn with those who mourn” (Romans 12:15).
These godly relationships are an important ingredient in building our faith (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
Just as an iron tool needs to be sharpened to work effectively, fellowship sharpens our discernment, gives us wisdom, and teaches us people skills (Proverbs 27:17).*
We need Christians to spur us on to love and good deeds, and they need us to do the same (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Is there a new Christian in your area whom you can befriend and encourage? Is there a mature believer you can seek for counsel?
If you are not in regular fellowship with other believers, ask God to help you find a small group or Bible study to join. If you are in regular fellowship, ask God how you might make that fellowship more meaningful for yourself and others.

*Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” I love the way the book of Proverbs offers short, powerful word pictures to help us develop our faith. That's one reason I enjoyed writing my book Wisdom for Life. It's based on Psalms and Proverbs, and I know the devotions will encourage you. Why not check it out on Amazon or Lifeway or Christian Book. It's a hardcover book priced cheaper than most paperbacks.
