The Best is Yet to Come

This 1-minute devotion explains why we can predict the future of every genuine believer.

If you are a genuine Christ-follower, I can predict your future and I will be 100% correct: The best is yet to come.

You may be locked in a relationship that grows worse daily.

You may suffer the rest of your earthly life from false accusations and misunderstandings.

You may be facing permanent, life-altering health problems.

You may have lost your dearest loved one.

But I can say, without reservation: If you are a Christ-follower, the best is yet to come.

By now, I think you know what I mean. This earth is not our home. We won't be home until we reach heaven (Hebrews 13:14).

We may suffer here on earth, but our eternity will be paradise (Luke 23:43). In heaven, all tears and sorrow will end (Revelation 21:4).

So whenever things seem hopeless, look up to your Savior and remember that the best is yet to come!

💙Beyond 1-minute for those who want more:

Be blessed by these Scriptures about our heavenly future.

Luke 23:43: Jesus answered him, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise."  [spoken to the thief on the cross]

2 Corinthians 5:8: "Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord."

Philippians 1:22-24: "If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body."

This 1-minute devotion explains why we can predict the future of every genuine believer.
John 14:1-3: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

1 Corinthians 2:9: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him."

Revelation 21:3-4: "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death" or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.'"

Revelation 22:5: "There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever."

  1. Hi Gail. My dear Mum used to like writing poetry and she would often end some of them with the words: 'The best is yet to be'. I think she found those words from a little poem by Patience Strong - thought you would like them too:

The best is never over. The best has never gone. There's always something lovely to keep you struggling on. There's a compensation for every cross you bear. A secret consolation is hidden somewhere there. If only you can find it. If only you can wait, an angel comes to comfort the lost and desolate. And even when a dear one is taken from your sight, and sorrow casts its shadow across the golden light, there comes the sweet assurance that love can never die. For ends are new beginnings and this is not goodbye. The faithful heart looks forward to Eternity. The best is never over. The best is yet to be.

After I lost my parents, I found great comfort in these words which point to God and our heavenly home to come. Thank you and God bless, Christine.
