The other day I had a meltdown.
I let everything get to me: some family problems, some health problems, and all the Covid limitations.
So I grabbed my Bible and opened it to the Psalms where I’ve been journaling, and I read Psalm 55:22:
“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”
My journal drawing. |
Obviously, my focus needed adjustment.
I looked up some similar verses:
"Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens." Psalm 68:19
Daily.
I need to take it one day at a time (Matthew 6:34).
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
He cares.
I need to remember how much God loves me (1 John 3:1).
So, whenever we feel overwhelmed, let’s remember to cast our burdens on the Lord…one day at a time…assured of His incredible love!

Thank you for being so open with us, I personally find it helpful to know that even very knowledgeable Christians struggle too. I hope you understand what I mean, I don't have your gift of words! Obviously I don't wish anxiety on anyone, but for someone who has struggled with it all my life, it's encouraging to know you are not alone. I look forward to meeting you in our Father's house someday, there won't be covid there, so I can hug you and thank you for the wonderful, encouraging devotions you wrote!
ReplyDeleteDear Heidi,
DeleteThanks for these encouraging words. Yes, I am "in process" just like all the other Christians I know :)
I also look forward to that meeting in our Father's house. It will be such a special time!! And I've said a prayer for your anxiety, sister!
God bless you.
I would like these daily. Please. Thx.
