Emotional intelligence is fast becoming more important to employers than a worker’s IQ or technical skills. This 1-minute devotion explains the biblical principles involved. #EmotionalIntelligence #Bible #Devotions #BibleLoveNotes

“Emotional intelligence” means having good people skills and getting along well with others.

EI is fast becoming more important to employers than a worker’s IQ or technical skills.

People with high emotional intelligence(1):
1. Handle stress in healthy ways.
2. Cooperate well with others.
3. Listen to others.
4. Accept correction.
5. Are empathetic.
6. Set a good example.
7. Make careful decisions.

I love when our culture recognizes the beauty of God’s truth. Every principle on this list is a scriptural principle.

Genuine believers who seek to obey God’s commands:

1. Take their stresses to the Lord and find peace (Philippians 4:6).

2. Consider the feelings and desires of others, not just their own (Philippians 2:3-4).

3. Genuinely listen to others, refusing to monopolize conversations (James 1:19).

4. Heed correction without making excuses for their sins (Proverbs 15:32).

5. Put themselves in the other person’s shoes and treat others as they would want to be treated (Matthew 7:12).

6. Become good examples as they follow the example of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).

7. Use God’s wisdom when making decisions (Proverbs 14:15).
