Helping People Realize that the Prosperity Gospel is a Lie

This 1-minute devotion shares what God's Word actually says about wealth, not what some teachers claim it says. #ProsperityGospel #BibleLoveNotes #Bible #Devotions

How can we help Christians who've been influenced by prosperity teachings?

We can start by sharing these truths found in Scripture:
Each Scripture link is followed by a brief description of the verse, not the actual text.

James 4:3 - Selfish prayers won't be answered.

Colossians 3:5 - Greed is idolatry.

Matthew 6:19-21 - We're commanded to store our treasures in heaven, not on earth.

Matthew 6:24 - If we love money, we hate God.

1 Timothy 6:6-10 - We should be content if we have food and clothing. Loving wealth turns us from God.

James 2:5 - Wealth is not a sign of faith. Poor people often have the most faith.

Matthew 13:22 - The deceitfulness of wealth chokes out God's Word in our lives.

Luke 12:15 - Possessions have nothing to do with the value of our lives.

1 John 2:15-17 - A love for worldly possessions is proof we don't love God!

Philippians 4:12 - Sometimes even God's most faithful followers have unmet physical needs.

Matthew 19:16-24 - Jesus linked wealth with less faith, not more.

I encourage you to study these linked passages so you'll be prepared to help those confused by prosperity teachings.

    1. Those are description summaries of the text that is why they are not put in quote marks. But each Scripture is linked so you can look them up in several translations.
