God’s Word begins by revealing Him as Creator (Genesis 1:1).
No wonder that aspect of His character is often attacked.
2 Peter 3:3-7 offers important insights:
“In the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires... they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.(1) By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.”
Acknowledging God as Creator means believing He knows what’s best for His creation. It means believing He destroyed wicked man in the flood and will one day destroy all wicked men who reject His Son.
Believing we’re accidents of nature is easier than admitting we’re sinners who deserve hell.
Sadly, all who do this reject the wonderful gift of salvation God freely gives to those who follow His Son (John 3:36).

(1) The meaning of the earth being formed out of water and by water is a reference to Genesis 1:2: “Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”
