5 Ways to Improve Our Spiritual Vision
My husband just had cataract surgery. Amazing! The doctor made a small laser incision, broke up the old cloudy lens, removed it, and injected a new lens through a needle.
Without surgery, my husband’s vision would have grown increasingly cloudy and out of focus.
We live in a time when it's easy to develop spiritual cataracts that cloud our view of right and wrong. If we want 20/20 vision, we must follow the prescription found in Hebrews 10:19-39:
1. Draw near to God with confidence and a clean conscience.
Repent and seek God daily.
2. Consider ways to encourage other Christians to do the right things.
Form Christ-focused relationships that include accountability.
3. Turn from deliberate sins.
Have a reverent fear of disobeying God’s commands.
4. Rejoice when persecuted.
Be confident that faithfulness will be rewarded.
5. Persevere knowing “we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.”
