Let God Use Your Sorrows

Don't waste your sorrows! These 3 things will help you remember how fully God can use your hardships. #Sorrow #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

For years I've prayed fervently about a sad situation, but it remains the same. I still struggle at times, but as the years have gone on, I'm learning to trust God.

I continue to pray about the situation, but I also pray that God will help me deal with the situation in ways that please Him.

Romans 8:28 tell us that all things, even the very worst of things, can work for our good if we seek God’s purposes, and I am seeing His purposes in my sorrow.

I don't understand every reason God allows this hardship in my life, but I know this trial is:

1. Reminding me to rely on God.

2 Corinthians 1:8-9 talks about a time when Paul and his companions "despaired of life itself." But Paul concludes that "this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead."

2. Giving me compassion for others who are suffering.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

3. Teaching me perseverance.

James 1:2-4: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

If you suffering in some area of your life, depend on God to use your sorrow to strengthen your faith and bring comfort to others.

  5. I too have prayed, waited, prayed some more over a couple of situations myself over several years, some changes were made and some seems to be worse, but though it all I have come to trust and rely on God more and more. To realize that even tho I have not received the answers I thought i needed or the situations change I know that He is in the middle of it all and He has taken care of me and seen me through all this time. So yes i too will wait on the Lord for HIS timeing is perfect for me.

    1. Thanks for sharing your story, Jada. Many of us have this experience and it's such a blessing to know that God is enough!

  6. I have been going through a situation with a neighbor and it's got an evil element to it and no matter what I do it seems to get worse with the different tactics that I try. I have gotten so discouraged that I have asked the Lord to show me how I can change to remedy the situation if the problem is with my reaction or my assessment of it then I need to change and I don't know how or what to do to make this stop. I have prayed for her, I have done spiritual warfare with the many different prayers and scriptures. I have used my authority in Christ to deliver me from this and nothing works. I'm at my wits end.

    1. Scripture tells us to live at peace as far as it depends on us. If the other person is unwilling to discuss things or forgive, then we cannot force it. If God has not prompted you to do something, perhaps you need to move on.

  7. Husband and I have been going through for 23 years we have learned to embrace our cup of suffering how will you know that God is God if he does not put us and situations where we will know that he is a keeper, deliver, provider, doctor...No cross no cross crown. It's how you go through not what you go through.
Let God make you trust him he knows what he's doing.
