Have you ever wondered why God's ways are so often the opposite from our normal human reactions?
- Men say never forget a wrong.
- God says forgive (Colossians 3:13).
- See Beyond Understanding
- Men say "If it feels good, do it."
- God says human sexual behavior damages our souls unless it is heterosexual intimacy between committed spouses (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Hebrews 13:4)
- See Sex, Truth, Love
- Man says "Blame parents for your problems."
- God says honor parents (Ephesians 6:2).
- See Underestimated Command
- Man says "Look out for #1."
- God says put others first (Philippians 2:3-4).
- See Four Biblical Secrets
- Man says "Esteem yourself."
- God says deny yourself (Matthew 16:24).
- See The Pharisee Had High Self-Esteem
- Man says "Get even."
- God says return good for evil (Romans 12:21).
- See Deadly Revenge
Sometimes it seems like God's ways are weak and irrelevant, but they are actually powerful and perfect. The door to human wisdom is popular. But God's children refuse to walk through it.
"The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds." 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

The reason the worlds thinking is not Gods thoughts is because Satan is the ruler of this world. The attitude you see in people today reflect Satan's personality. He wants to turn people away from God. And is doing a good job at that!
ReplyDeleteYes it is! What you wrote Emily is so true. Stay up. Be safe. And stay strong. Jesus Christ lives.
ReplyDeleteI can certainly see why it's wrong (or one reason why) to blame your problems on your parents - my husband and I were on the receiving end of this from our adult son and it was very hurtful
