Most of you reading this (me included) don't know the difference between a luxury and a need.
Most of us think we're roughing it when we are actually living better than most human beings on the face of this earth.
And few of our financial problems are caused by genuine needs for food and shelter, unless we've already spent too much on non-necessities.
I'm grateful for my many material comforts, but it's important that I regularly realize they are luxuries not necessities - warm showers, heat and air conditioning, surplus food and clothes, modern health-care facilities, readily available medicines, vitamins, exercise equipment, a personal automobile, books, entertainment, a bed in a safe place ...
If we think these things are needs, please watch "Are You Thankful."
And if we are not grateful and generous to those in need, we should be ashamed (1 Timothy 6:6-19).
