Adjusting Our Focus
What's your focus?
Most people focus their energies on being comfortable, rich, happy, famous, or loved.
Paul was rarely comfortable, often hated, never rich, not happy nor famous in the worldly sense.
He had a different focus.
"No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven." Philippians 3:13-14
Dear Christians, there are many people speaking in the Name of Christ, and some of their messages encourage us to focus our energies on the world's selfish goals.
But we are not on a Sunday walk. We're in a race that requires intense straining toward the goal.
We need to focus all of our energies on that race, forgetting past failures and straining to run according to our calling in Christ.
