Going, Teaching, Trusting = Active Faith

This 1-minute devotion explains why Christianity is Not a passive faith.

Christianity isn't passive (Matthew 28:18-20).

Jesus said "go and make disciples" (Matthew 28:19)

This might mean going across the world or simply going across the street, boldly sharing Jesus with a stranger or gradually sharing Jesus with a neighbor.

Jesus said, "teach." (Matthew 28:20)
This could mean teaching in a seminary or teaching a children's Sunday school class, discipling a friend, or creating a discipleship curriculum.

Jesus said, to trust His authority, not our own (Matthew 28:18). Without the solid foundation of Scripture, going and teaching would be useless.

We refuse to sit back in our salvation and do nothing because "faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead" (James 2:17).

So we prepare ourselves for an active faith by seeking God in word, prayer, and fellowship:

"Prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world." 1 Peter 1:13

An active relationship with Jesus blesses us and blesses others!

    1. Hi Marja,
thanks for the url to your site. I used google translate and love what I read. (For some reason Google translate seems to do better with Dutch than other languages, so I think I understood most of what I translated). Your ministry sounds like a wonderful way to add action to faith. And bless you for all of the writing you do yourself.

  2. This is so right and something that we need to hear from time to time . . . I do not want to get passive where my faith is concerned.
