There's No "Away"

Hell, Heaven, D.L. Moody, Alive in Christ when we die
"Someday you will read in the papers that D.L. dead. Don't you believe a word of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now." ~ D.L. Moody

I think it's odd that we say someone has "passed away."

Environmentalists remind us when we "throw away" plastics, there's no "away."

The same is true for people.

When we die, we "pass on" to something far better or far worse.

Hell--the place of eternal torment-- is not a popular subject. In fact, some Christians have believed it "away."

But God's Word speaks clearly about eternal suffering.* And we have a serious responsibility to warn those who think they will someday "pass away" or those who think they might be "good enough" to get into heaven.

Like Moody, Christians know the good news that we will one day be more alive than we have ever been. We mustn't keep that good news to ourselves.

While I recommend this book in the YWAM Christian Heroes series, I do not recommend all of the books in this series.

*For a sampling of Scripture references to Hell:
In  Matthew; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Jude 6, 23;  In Revelation

If you struggle with the concept of Hell, I recommend you listen to this 10 minute video by Francis Chan: the Hell Debate.

Today's Bite Size Bible Study will look at the subject of hell. Why not look at it HERE. It's a short but nutritious bite of God's Word.
