One More Day in Paradise

This 1-minute devotion offers some encouraging thoughts of heaven. Enjoy!

Several years ago, when my husband and I were vacationing in Hawaii, I started thinking about heaven. It wasn't hard to do when relaxing with my toes in the sand, surrounded by tropical flowers and palm trees, balmy breezes, and warm sunshine.

Each morning of vacation I prepared myself to return to normal life: "five more days in paradise...four more days in paradise..." reminding myself that our time in this paradise was limited.

But it also made me remember this wonderful truth: one day I'm going to live in paradise full time!

Lovely places on earth are reminders of God's love for beauty. Whatever heaven is like, it's going to be beautiful. And it's also going to be filled with peace, love, refreshment, and joy, a place of perfect rest from the trials of life (Hebrews 4).

This 1-minute devotion offers some encouraging thoughts of heaven. Enjoy!
Let's let special times and places inspire us to use our short, fleeting lives on earth to glorify the Savior who's preparing our permanent paradise—a place where we'll see Him face to face and never need to count off the days before we leave (1 Corinthians 13:12).

  1. Hawaii truly is a peek into paradise, right here on earth. And to think, it is only a glimpse! The real thing will be so far beyond our imaginings!
