Several years ago, an error on a department store's online site allowed customers to buy a $600 item for less than $9!
Imagine the shock and delight at finding such a deal and paying less than 2% of the original price. It was almost like "legal robbery."
When I read about this I couldn't help but think of the analogy to salvation.
It's like getting something priceless and undeserved absolutely free.
Free for us...but costly for our Lord:
He didn't buy us "with perishable things such as silver and gold" (1 Peter 1:18). He purchased us with His blood (1 Peter 1:19, Acts 20:28). "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us" (Galatians 3:13).
So let's remember this important truth:
"God bought you with a high price," so don’t be enslaved by the world (1 Corinthians 6:20).
