Easy paths are bigger temptations to Christians than evil paths.
They don't involve blatant sin, just peripheral selfishness.
Easy paths can be something as simple as choosing not to support that missionary God has been niggling us about. Or they can be as huge as selecting a family-friendly career when you know God called your family to something more difficult.*
But the easy path isn't really easy. We just choose different kinds of difficulties and bypass God's best in the process (Ephesians 2:10).
I need to daily remind myself of Christ's powerful words in Matthew 10:38-39:
"Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it."
