Psychological Immune System

God's Word commands certain things which are not only godly but also healthy. And science agrees. This 1-minute devotion explains.

"Feeling grateful and expressing it decreases stress, increases happiness, and generally makes people feel better about life."

In a national survey, researchers concluded that gratitude is like "a psychological immune system." By refocusing on the good things in life, we become healthier, more enjoyable to be around, and happier overall. 

Isn't it fun when secular studies prove something God has been telling us all along?

"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:18

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6  

"Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." Philippians 4:8

God said it and science proves it's the best way to live. Now we just need to act like we believe it!

  4. During the course of my life I have easily been able to separate people into 2 columns - the happy, uplifting, grateful ones, and the UNhappy, whining, "poor meeeeees." I never thought of it in the terms you've expressed here....that we are programmed to be happy only if God's will is honored.

  6. I woke up anxious and feeling stressed this morning and then I opened my email and this was the devotional for today. God’s timing is always perfect and I am grateful for His unconditional love. I grateful for God and that He takes care of all our needs. I belong to Him and that feels me with peace
