4 Practical Ways to Grow in our Faith

These 4 problems are reasons that many Christians are not growing in their faith. This 1-minute devotion offers practical solutions. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible #Devotions

Studies show that Christians are not being deliberate about discipleship. We’ve forgotten that Christ didn’t command us to become converts. He commanded us to become disciples, learning to obey everything He taught (Matthew 28:19-20).

So let's look at four common problems and four practical solutions:

1. Lack of commitment
Today, let’s pray for direction. What does God specifically want us to read, study, and/or teach?  (2 Timothy 2:15)

2. Lack of genuine repentance
Today, let’s ask God to give us a glimpse of how our sins separate us from His purposes. And let’s not quit asking until we are moved by a revelation of His great mercy (James 4:7-10).

3. Busyness
Today, let’s identify activities, including church activities, that are keeping us too busy to do the things God wants us to do (Ephesians 2:10).

4. Lack of meaningful fellowship
Today, let’s identify people in our lives with whom we can develop accountability relationships. Or, if we have these relationships, let’s think of ways to develop them more fully (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Let's overcome these obstacles!

  1. This is perfect. I got ready this morning and since the kids where still in bed I figured I would spend some time with God. I opened up my iPad planning on going to YouVersion. When I turned it on the blog hop was up and saw this post! You were exactly what I was looking for!

  3. I start my morning with a "recce" of what God wants me to do each day. When I do the recce, several items may be listed so I pray over the list before the tasks get prioritized. I have found that this enables me to overcome obstacles. If we don't identify the people closest to us that need to see Jesus because we are too busy, what is the message we are giving them. In my utter brokenness, I have been transformed into a resource that God can use. In the past 18 months, my life could have been written off in four different methods but God has spared my life. I would rather have a brain tumour and emergency surgery, than die without knowing Jesus.
