Home

the meaning of home, eternal home, heaven, John 14:1-4
During my 61 years of life I’ve moved over 40 times and lived in:
  • houses
  • trailers
  • manufactured homes
  • duplexes
  • townhouses
  • apartments
  • government quarters
  • converted barracks
  • European flats
My experiences have taught me that home isn’t location, size, or architecture. Home is a sense of love, familiarity, comfort, and belonging.

But even the best earthly homes fall short: parents age and die, children grow up and move away, family members grow distant. In the end, we all long for something more. But instead of letting this longing discourage us, we should see it for what it is: a sign that God designed us for something more and that is exactly what we will experience in eternity (Hebrews 11:8-16).

So today as you ponder the multi-layered feelings of the word "home," don't "let your heart be troubled." Rejoice that there is a perfect home in your future (John 14:1-4).

  2. We have moved a lot in the short amount of time my husband and I have been together, (we're currently in a move process, and it makes time 14.. and we've only been together 10 years...) I've been so discouraged lately.. I thought it made me a bad mother. THANK you for this perspective, you have no idea how much it touched me today!

    1. Stacy, I can tell you from personal experience...I moved 21 times before I was in 7th grade...moving made me flexible and prepared me for things God had planned in my future.
I actually feel blessed to have moved so many times as a child and an adult. I'm not saying it's easy, but God can use it for great good in your life and the lives of your children.
      I'm saying a prayer for your mother's heart...be encouraged!

  3. Hi Gail,
I think what mentioned above if everyone follows or remembers then there is only word I would love to say for their life "Happiness and Happiness". I would love to share it to my other friends who need to have these words.
