Will You Stand with Jesus?

Will you help speak the truth in love or remain silent while people damage their hearts and souls?

"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear."  ~ 2 Timothy 4:3

We should never be ashamed to speak up for Scriptural principles, whether they are popular or not.

As Jesus said in Luke 9:26, "Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels."

Dear Christians, we must prepare ourselves as never before. Some government leaders are promising to make it illegal to share God's principles when counseling people.

God's Word teaches us that we should rescue people caught up in harmful lifestyles. If someone voluntarily seeks counseling for themselves or their minor child, Christians must share the biblical truths honestly and lovingly.

Note that 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 specifically mentions those who have have been converted and become part of God's Kingdom:

"Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

We must be aware of the proposed “Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act” which will make it illegal to rescue people from lifestyles that damage their souls.

This proposed law will make Christian counseling illegal for both adults and minor children struggling with LBGTQ attractions.

This law has been repeatedly introduced but has not passed. It was most recently introduced in both the House and Senate on May 7, 2025, and is currently being debated but not yet been enacted into law. Let's be aware of laws like this and speak God's truth while we still have the freedom to do so.

If these laws are passed, any counseling to rescue people from LGBTQ lifestyles will be illegal, even if the person has requested it and even if it is done biblically and professionally.

This law is promoted largely with propaganda judging modern Christian counselors even though unhealthy conversion therapies originated in secular psychology and secular medicine with people like Eugen Steinach who did surgical testicle operations to convert gay men.

Christian organizations like Exodus International are also blamed for unhealthy practices but the main criticism they receive is the fact that they believed that gay men could be delivered from their sinful lifestyles by counseling and group meetings, similar to alcoholics anonymous. My husband and I attended one of their meetings when we were living in the D.C. area, hoping we could understand how a straight couple might be of help.

We left the meeting troubled, not by the message of the speaker, but by the fact that hundreds of gay men were meeting in small groups with other gay men. At our table they confessed their sins from the previous week and were very defensive that a straight couple sat at their table.

It seemed to us that the atmosphere and practices would be more like a dating club where they could meet other gay men and create attachments. We believe this may be the reason that many years later the ex-gay leader eventually dissolved the group and claimed gay men can't be converted (even though he was).

I'm sure there have been some bad examples of Christian counseling but the force behind this law is to silence Christians, mock God's commands, and provide no hope for gay people, encouraging them to damage their souls instead of helping them find life in Christ.

If this law passes, parents may have their children taken from them if they seek to counsel them.

People will be able to speak freely against God's truth, calling it therapeutic fraud” and mocking biblical principles. But Christians will not be free to legally share God's principles.

In addition, some prominent government leaders promise to force Christian adoption agencies to place children with LBGTQ couples even though it is against the clear teaching of our faith. LBGTQ couples can adopt from a wide variety of secular agencies, but these leaders are insisting that Christian agencies deny their beliefs or shut down (source). This isn't about freedom for LBGTQ persons to adopt. It's about making it illegal for Christian agencies to operate according to scriptural principles.

This is is a test for us, dear Christians. We have been Born for Such a Time as This.

Will you pray? Will you speak up when God gives you opportunities? (Matthew 25:31-46)
