What Compels You to Live for Christ?

Guilt is a terrible motivation. But we need not worry about that. Something wonderful compels Christians to live for Christ. This 1-minute devotion explains. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

When we come to Christ, we agree to deny ourselves and our selfish desires (Matthew 16:24).

2 Corinthians 5:14 tells us why and how we do this: because "Christ’s ♥ love ♥ compels us."

"He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ." 2 Corinthians 5:15

Living for Christ means:

We live in Christ (John 15:4).

We gain strength through Christ (Philippians 4:13).

We give up our purposes for Christ's purposes (Ephesians 2:10).

We do everything with Christ in mind (Colossians 3:23).

We obey Christ's commands (John 14:1).

We don't do these things out of guilt. We don't do them as a duty. We don't do them hesitantly or halfheartedly.

We do them for the best reason of all - for love - because Christ's love amazes us, empowers us, sustains us, and compels us.
