Marika Marton

Hi! My name is Marika Marton, and I live in Subotica, Serbia. By God’s grace, I am a born-again Christian and the mother of three adult children. I serve as the translator for the Hungarian Bible Love Notes A szeretet üzenete, and I also work as Gail’s assistant, helping manage both the English and foreign social media pages and groups.

Although I am Hungarian, I live in Serbia, so I speak both languages. I also run my own Serbian Facebook prayer page Molitveni kutak where I share a new prayer topic each week in the form of an article I write. In addition, I serve in our local home group, leading worship, translating, and ministering to women.

I first met Gail in person in 2019, but our connection began earlier through email after I subscribed to Bible Love Notes. The devotions spoke so deeply to me that I felt compelled to share with her how much they blessed me. As we continued corresponding, we became friends, and she found out I was Hungarian and I found out she had lived in Budapest before.

When the previous Hungarian translator was no longer able to translate A szeretet üzenete, Gail offered me the opportunity to take over. I gladly accepted and have truly enjoyed reading and translating each devotion. A few years later, I also began serving as her assistant. Since then, we’ve met several times in person, both in Budapest and in my home in Serbia.

Last year, Gail invited me to occasionally write devotions for her blog. I was happy to accept the challenge because I have a strong desire to share what I am continually learning in my own walk with the Lord. Many of my devotions come from real-life situations or are the fruit of deep spiritual conversations with a Christian friend.

I feel very blessed to serve in the Bible Love Notes ministry. Through this work, I am constantly growing spiritually—learning, being encouraged, challenged, and sometimes warned. I deeply appreciate the ministry’s commitment to sound theology and speaking the truth in love. It does not shy away from difficult or controversial topics and addresses every aspect of the Christian life.

I am truly grateful to God, and to Gail and Michael, for the opportunity to serve alongside them and to help believers grow stronger, more mature, and more faithful in their walk with the Lord.
