It's Serious, No Lie!

Proverbs 6:16-19 tells us seven things that God hates, and one of them is “a lying tongue.” 

“The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” Proverbs 12:22 

Colossians 3:9-10 says that lies are part of our old sin nature which we throw off when we come to Christ.

You see, Satan is the father of lies, and when we lie we are pledging allegiance to his purposes (John 8:44).

Lying damages our conscience because “the things that come out of a person's mouth come from the heart” (Matthew 15:18; 1 Timothy 4:2; 1 John 2:4; Revelation 21:8).

“The godly hate lies” because we know that little lies eventually lead to big lies (Proverbs 13:5; Luke 16:10).

"Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.” Psalm 34:12-13 and 1 Peter 3:10  

Let's genuinely evaluate our honesty, dear Christians. It's serious, no lie!
