Worry is Based on a Small View of God

Something tiny and seemingly insignificant destroyed this 400-year-old tree. It's a good analogy for worry. This 1-minute devotion explains. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

A 400-year-old tree survived severe conditions on Colorado’s Long’s Peak until a swarm of tiny bugs destroyed it.

These bugs are a good illustration of how something small and insignificant can destroy us if we don't deal with it effectively.

Our worries usually have some basis in fact. We may have genuine difficulties in finances, relationships, health, etc.

Just as the old tree weathered the harsh Colorado winters for hundreds of years, we can weather difficult conditions.

Or we can allow the little "bugs" of fear and worry to invade.

Worry is actually a sign of Unbelief—the false belief that God is not enough, that we can’t have peace or joy, that we can’t live under our present conditions. It's based on a small view of God and an exaggerated view of our problems.

If you are worrying about something today, ask God to help you see the “tiny bugs” for what they are and His great power for what it is.

"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything." Philippians 4:6
