First Place

the attitude in Philippians 3:8 can totally transform our lives. This 1-minute devotion explains. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

We become like our idols.

Scripture says so.

"They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves." (Jeremiah 2:5)

In fact, Romans 3:11-12 says we're all worthless without Christ:

"There is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

We become shallow and worldly when we make idols of things like fame, fortune, pleasure, prestige, and lust.

We can also make idols of good things: fitness, family, church, community, country, good deeds. Anything we prioritize above God devalues us.

But giving Jesus first place in our lives brings our lives value: we become valuable because He is valuable.

Is there anyone or anything you've placed above Christ? If so, this is a good time to repent and proclaim with the Apostle Paul:
"I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord." Philippians 3:8

  1. Apart from God (Jesus ) I can do nothing, no good. Nothing that is worth bragging about. But with God I can do all things. So I chose to not be apart of anything that God doesn't want me to be. ♡
