Psalm 119:9-16 shares 9 spiritual disciplines to help us live holy lives. One is found in verse 15: "I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways."
It's one thing to have a surface relationship with God, quite another to understand His ways.
Psalm 103:7 says God "made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel."
The people saw God's wonderful acts, but most of them refused to identify and understand God's character and principles revealed in those acts. Instead, they focused on their selfish desires (Hebrews 3:7-19).
Moses, on the other hand, sought to understand God's ways.
The whole world sees the wonders of God's universe daily, but few choose to understand His ways revealed in those wonders (Romans 1:18-20).
Christians can also fail to know God's ways if we focus on ourselves and manipulate God's Word to say things it doesn't say.
Let's seek to be like Moses, considering God's ways - His character, purpose, and truth.
God invites us to do this (Hebrews 11:6; Jeremiah 9:23-24).
