He's Scared For You

1 Peter 5:7, Christ cares for you
"Cast all your anxiety on him because He’s scared for you"

Stephanie worked with at-risk preschoolers, teaching them about Jesus. One day they memorized “He cares for you” from 1 Peter 5:7 and each child took their turn reciting the verse to Stephanie to receive a prize.

Even though one little girl misunderstood and recited, “He’s scared for you,” Stephanie gladly handed her a prize.*

I imagine this paraphrase was perfect for this little girl who faced fearful situations daily. And what a wonderful thought. If we could truly cast all of our fears on Christ and trust Him to be “scared” for us.

What’s troubling you today? Your children? Your health? A loved one’s health? Financial concerns? A broken relationship? A new job? An old job? Your past? Your future?

Whatever it is, cast that concern on Him because He cares for you.

* I read the story of this little girl in Joni Erickson Tada's excellent book: A Healing Place, copyright 2010, published by David C. Cook.

  4. I read this on my phone yesterday while waiting for my son...and dropped back to encourage you with a comment :-) This was both cute and so true that we don't have to be scared. Even as adults (who are more apt not to admit it) we are scared because of something in our life and need to trust God. It is wonderful that He isn't really scared for us because He loves us so much and has a plan for whatever is scaring us.
