Bamanna Bread or Banana Bread?

Challenges can be problems or opportunities, 1 Thessalonians 5:18

“So you want to go back to Egypt” is a humorous song about the Israelites' constant whining in the wilderness (Number 11:4-6). Instead of being grateful for God's provision, the lyrics imagine them complaining about the monotony of manna by reciting manna recipes like manna-waffles, manna-burgers, manna-cotti, and bamanna bread.

Manna was “too much of a good thing” in their opinion.

Challenges can be problems or opportunities, 1 Thessalonians 5:18My friend Kim recently faced such a problem. While serving a group of formerly-homeless elderly folks in Romania, Kim’s team bought way too many bananas.

They could have complained, but they turned the situation into an opportunity. They made huge pans of banana bread which were a highlight for 70 elderly people who live a life of daily monotony. It was a chance for them to taste something new and they loved it!

When faced with challenges, we can complain or grow. We can see things as problems or opportunities.
