Aggressive Renewal

This 1-minute devotion talks about an area where we Christians need to be aggressive. Are you doing it? #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

The renewal process that begins when we follow Christ is a process that continues daily.

If we aren't renewing our minds, we're conforming to the influences of the world around us.

Renewal is as an aggressive, proactive process--demolishing and taking captive:

"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:5

To renew our minds we must concentrate on things that are "excellent and praiseworthy" (Philippians 4:8) creating a Biblical world view. It's not simply putting a positive spin on life; it's putting a godly spin on life.

Beliefs firmly rooted and nurtured in our minds affect our lifestyle and give us a deeper discernment of God's "good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:2).

How are you renewing your mind today?

  1. I learned a lot back in the 80s and 90s through Reading Watchman nees work, how do you address things with people who have their spiritual eyes shut?... for instance in Daniel 3 there is a problem with the new translations of the Bible, the Young's literal translation makes the connection I'd like to point out, where in the King James that says if it be so, the Young's literal translation says lo, it is, and where the King James says but if not, the youngs says Lo, not. The clear connection between those two statements lets us know that they are talking about both sides of a coin if you will, or in this case both of the Kings options, what he said he was going to do which was throw them in the furnace, or choose some other torture method or something to get them to submit, they covered both of those!... they didn't back down and questioned what God was going to do, they were much more aware of their mission than we are today! They knew the king had to see something! And they had complete confidence that they would come out of the fire if they went in for that very reason! That's why they said can and will, had they gone back and questions that they would have immediately been in the place of the wave ring man, the double-minded man, that James says receives nothing!!! This is clearly a mistranslation when it says but even if God doesn't Deliver us!!! They never questioned that!!!😁
