If we have a healthy fear of God, Scripture says we'll have these five characteristics:
1. We'll take our spiritual growth seriously.
When Paul says, "continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling," the "fear and trembling" part means deliberately, seriously, and with commitment.
Philippians 2:12-13
2. We'll take God's Word seriously.
God looks favorably on those who "tremble" at His word. If we tremble at God's Word, we'll heed His Word above all others and be "doers" as well as "hearers." Isaiah 66:2b; James 1:22
3. We'll trust God's wisdom.
We'll never "lean on" (i.e. depend on) our "wisdom" or the "wisdom" of our world. Proverbs 3:5-7
4. We'll share Christ.
We'll understand the importance of persuading others that Christ is the only way of salvation. 2 Corinthians 5:11
5. We'll hate sin.
We'll turn from evil, pride, arrogance, and ungodly talk. Proverbs 8:13
Which of these five would you like to ask God to help you do better?

ReplyDelete"Which of these five would you like to ask God to help you do better?"
ReplyDeleteAll of them! It's amazing how easy it is to get away from those things that we should be doing; not because we want to, but because we "get busy" with other 'not bad' things.
Amen.
ReplyDeleteamen i so agree
ReplyDeleteAmen!!!
ReplyDeleteUngodly talk... moaning, groaning and complaining about the boss! Not where I want to be, but no where near as bad. I catch myself and ask for forgiveness and ask God to bless him instead.
ReplyDeleteI must have a healthy fear of God then. Praise the Lord!
