Why Muslims Can’t Believe Jesus Was a Prophet

Muslims claim to believe in Jesus as a prophet, but they can't do that because of these 4 Statements Christ made.

Almost daily I hear something about Muslims believing in Jesus as a prophet.

It’s not true.

Jesus can't be one of their prophets because they don't believe what He taught.

He claimed:

1. He existed before Abraham (John 8:56-58), is one with God (John 10:30), and is Lord of the Sabbath (Matthew 12:8).(1)

2. He is the Messiah, the giver of eternal life (John 5:21; 10:24-28), who came to be sacrificed and resurrected (Matthew 12:40; Matthew 16:21).

3. He is the only way of salvation (John 10:9; 11:25; 14:6; 14:23).

4. He insisted all evangelism should be done in His authority according to His teachings (Matthew 28:16-20).

As C.S. Lewis wrote: “You can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us.”

Christ's prophetic words demand that we believe He is God, the only way of salvation.
(1) He also accepted worship as God (Matthew 28:9; Matthew 28:16-17; John 20:28).

Muslims claim to believe in Jesus as a prophet, but they can't do that because of these 4 Statements Christ made.

  1. Satan uses characteristics of the Christian life to mislead the world to stray from the teachings of Jesus. “Tolerance” and “love” are used to make us believe that it is homosexuality is acceptable. If it us not acceptable to God, it is not acceptable to the true Holy Ghost filled child of God. We do not condemn homosexuals, God does.

    1. Well, believers don't condemn the person, we condemn the SIN. So does God. We are to distinguish between the doer and the deed. That is why no-one is beyond redemption, "for ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God."

    2. Hi Rachel M,
We don't condemn the sin or the sinner. God does.
But God commands us to judge both sin and sinners in multiple Scripture passages.
Muslims are lost in their sins as are all people who do not believe what Scripture teaches about Christ.
Jesus will not be anyone's mere prophet or teacher. He is God and Savior, nothing less. And those who reject this truth reject their only possibility to be redeemed.
We are commanded to judge false religions and warn those in such religions that they will die in their sins if they don't repent and turn to Jesus.

  2. Muslims also say that God does not have a wife and would not have a son, but the interesting thing is, their book says that God (Allah) can see without eyes and hear without ears. So, why can't He have a son without a wife?!

    1. Actually, God DOES have a wife! Isreal is His wife, and the Church (the body of born-again believers) is betrothed to God the Son, Jesus. The Holy Spirit doesn't yet have a partner, but I believe that void will be filled by the union of Christ and His bride, thereby bringing the number of The Godhead to 6, the incomplete number of a Man. Combine all 6, and you have a 7th type of Deity - perfection!!

    2. Rachel, no where in Scripture does it say Israel is God's "wife." And when the church is called the Bride of Christ, this is a symbolic metaphor explaining His devotion to us. The rest of your comment is complete fiction, not found in Scripture, contradictory to Scripture, and if you believe it, you have not understood salvation. I encourage you to read the link at the top of this page titled "Eternal Life" because you cannot believe these things and know Jesus, and if you don't know Jesus, you are not saved. I've prayed that you will find salvation.

  3. John 8:24 settles it. "...unless you believe that I AM He, you will die in your sins..." Isaiah 43:10-13 defines I Am He. Jesus is God. Period. Many Christians don't even believe this.
