4 Reasons to Avoid People-Pleasing

This 1-minute devotion offers 4 truths we must remember if we want to please God, not man.

It's important that Christians understand that we can't please both God and man. So let's remember these four biblical truths:

✔ It's never right to r
emain silent about our Christian values for fear of offending people

✔ It's never right to soften biblical truths to make them sound attractive to the world.

We'll never make Christianity popular with the majority (Matthew 7:13-14).

✔ Persecution is part of living for the Lord.

Ephesians 5:5-10 warns us not to be deceived by empty human values because we were once darkness, but now [we] are light in the Lord. Therefore, we must live as children of light … and find out what pleases the Lord.”

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Proverbs 29:25

When someone doesn't like us because of our Christian beliefs, that's proof that we're living for the Lord.

Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 2 Timothy 3:12

It's appropriate to care about other people's feelings, to be kind and gracious. But our first priority must always be to please God, not men.
