Narrow Road Scenery

Matthew 7:13-14, stay on the Narrow Path, wide is the path to destruction
Matthew 7:13-14 tells us the Christian life is a narrow path..

If we’re unsure how to get to the right location, We don't:
  • follow the majority of cars on the road
  • Ignore the map
  • just keep going, hoping we end up at the right place

Unfortunately, when we judge ourselves, we often:
  • follow the majority
  • Ignore the Bible
  • just keep doing what we're doing, and hope we're right
We’ve convinced ourselves that salvation is an easy ride on the Katy Freeway.(1)

But Christ warns us, “wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matthew 7:13).

Today let’s check our road map (the Bible) and make sure our choices are part of narrow road scenery.

(1) Katy Freeway (part of Interstate 10) in Houston, Texas, has the greatest number of lanes on a U.S. highway--26 lanes in some sections. (Source)

  1. Hi Gail, great post, great reminder to be a sheep who follows Christ and not the general flow of humanity.

  3. Great analogy the Bible is our road map to life. Too bad so many don't take the time to read and study it.

  4. Thank you, easy to forget. Get caught up in everything else and our road gets wider without us noticing. Not backsliden but our praise and worship or studying isn't where it Should BE.
