Bible Vitamins

A fun way to share Bible verses with a child - Make them "Bible Vitamins"

Here's an idea for a fun way to share prayers or Scriptures with the children in your life, whether your a mom, grandma, aunt, Sunday school teachers, or friend.

I found this idea because I'm always looking for ideas for my "Bible Clubs" with my granddaughters. It's not original, but I'm not sure where I first heard about it.

But I love it because it's so simple and my granddaughters really enjoyed it.

I cut strips of colored index cards (large size), wrote a greeting, a spiritual encouragement or a simple Bible verse and put one in each day of a brightly colored "pill box."

Each day when my grandchildren opened the day's "vitamin," I asked them to write something about God on the back of each paper strip and return it to it's compartment so I could read it when I refilled the pill box with new verses at the end of the week.

I hope this will bring some Bible nutrition into the life of a child you know!

  2. This is a lovely idea. I think most children adore and admire their grandparents, sometimes preferring them to their discipline-wielding parents! That means that they are more likely to be attentive to messages like this if grandparents espouse them. I remember watching my grandma fall asleep while praying her rosary every day after lunch. To this day, that is one of my favorite devotions. It recalls peace, faith and trust, and since it was practiced by a grandmother I was devoted to, it is something worth imitating!
