She was texting while driving when she ran a stop sign, was broadsided, flipped three times, and somehow survived.
Understandably, she became an outspoken advocate against texting and driving.
However, a year later, she was killed ... you guessed it: she was texting and driving.
She'd come so close to death and survived ... how could she repeat such dangerous behavior?
This true story is a common spiritual scenario: people wreck their lives with sin, God offers an escape, they accept God's help but later return to their sin (Proverbs 26:11).
I'm not just talking about drug addicts. I'm talking all of us.
Do we think God's patience has no limit? Do we think it won't hurt us "one more time"?
"Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed--without remedy." Proverbs 29:1
Jesus said, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.
John 14:21-23
Let's love and obey Him, dear friends.

an incredible wakeup call that is real!
ReplyDeleteWhat about if you finally repent of a sin that you had been committing unrepentantly for a while, but only after severe consequences? Will God forgive you if your repentance is sincere because you finally realized the gravity of the sin?
ReplyDeleteForgiveness is part of our salvation, so those who are truly saved may temporarily back slide (like King David). But they will fully repent (like King David). David experienced consequences for his sins, but he was fully restored in his relationship with the Lord. The same is true for any sincere believer.
