I’ve been depressed and discouraged at times, and I've learned that these attitudes are often related to my perspective.
I thought of this one time when I was on a sixth-floor balcony:
- Looking down, I saw my bare feet on the cold, concrete floor.
- Because I was sitting in a chair, my front view was obstructed by a metal railing.
- But looking up, I saw the sunny blue sky!
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
Psalm 121:1-2
Are you discouraged? Look up!
See also Psalm 123.
