God's Word is "alive and active." It's life changing. That's why praying Scripture can be a powerful addition to our prayer life (Hebrews 4:12).
Scripture prayers shouldn't replace our normal conversations with God, but they can supplement them.
And one passage that is an ideal prayer for ourselves and our loved ones is Philippians 1:9-11:
"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God."
This passage is a request for:
1. Increased love for God.
2. Increased knowledge of God.
3. Increased insight and discernment.
And the purpose of this prayer is that our lives would glorify the Lord and bring Him praise.
Why not take a moment and pray it now.
