Did you know there are “weeds” in our churches?
Jesus explains in Matthew 13:24-30 that there are people in our fellowships who are “weeds” planted by Satan. They look similar to the wheat (true believers) planted by God. But like weeds in a field, they try to choke out the healthy plants.
So what can we do, especially when these weeds are often hard to recognize?
This last point is especially important because the weeds want us to compromise God's values, and it's easy to accept sinful behavior if others have accepted it.
But God judges us by His standard, not the standards of others (2 Corinthians 10:18), and He gives us the strength to stand firm.
One day, at the harvest, God will “collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned” and He will gather the wheat and take us to His heavenly home in paradise.
So let's not let these worldly Christians damage or compromise our faith! Let's grow closer to our Lord every day!

Sometimes that is hard because we look around at Christianity in America and many of us are comfortably lukewarm but because that is the norm we accept it as the standard.
ReplyDeleteWe should let the Bible set the standard and open our eyes and see what Christianity means in other parts of the world. When following Jesus means being mistreated, torture or death Luke warm Christians disappear and those who follow Jesus do so with passion.
