My husband was a career soldier.
We moved 12 times in 22 years where and when the Army told us. Sometimes my husband spent 4 months of the year away from home doing training. When we were stationed in West Germany, he was subject to 4 a.m. alerts. Now that America is involved in the Middle East, military families have it even tougher.
My son used to be an avid soccer player and he diligently learned the rules of the game so he could compete without penalty.
My uncle was a hardworking farmer, putting in half a day's work before breakfast. His family enjoyed fresh milk, eggs, produce and new grain.
2 Timothy 2:1-7 tells us to reflect on various aspects of these professions because God will give us insights about our Christian life.
I encourage you to read 2 Timothy 2:1-7 today and consider how you might be a more loyal soldier, more diligent athlete and harder-working farmer in your faith.
