How could it happen?
God created mankind in His image and placed him in a world that provided everything he needed to grow in wisdom and goodness. So how is it possible that in Genesis 6:5, we read this:
"The LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil."
Can you imagine—every thought of every man was completely evil. Not some of their thoughts, some of the time, but every thought of every man was continually evil.
This broke God's heart (Genesis 6:6).
God could have destroyed us permanently and forever, but He gave us another chance through the family of Noah (Genesis 6:8-10; 2 Peter 2:5).
Noah is an example of saving faith (Hebrews 11:6-7). God rescued Noah so He could one day rescue you and me through the sacrifice of Christ (Ephesians 2:1-10). How ironic that we sometimes accuse God of not doing enough for us!!
While the flood makes me sad, it also reminds me that I'm "on the ark of Christ" and I'm eternally rescued from sin and death (2 Peter 2:4-10).

"...we accuse you of not doing enough" just resonates with me, as I am working on being CONTENT which is vital in order discern culture from GOD. Thank you for this word I am glad I saved it.
