♥ Deliberate
♥ Diligent
♥ Disciplined
These 3 "D's" should describe every Christian's walk with God.
Deliberate: We don't just wait for Christian growth to happen, we plan for it.
"So then, my dear ones, just as you have always obeyed [my instructions with enthusiasm], not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation [that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity] with awe-inspired fear and trembling [using serious caution and critical self-evaluation to avoid anything that might offend God or discredit the name of Christ]." Philippians 2:12 Amplified Bible
Diligent: We don't work at it half-heatedly because we know "everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus [our] Lord." Philippians 3:8
Disciplined: We don't just do it when we feel like it because we know growth requires consistency.
"Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58
Please join me this week in taking time with the Lord to plan deliberate, diligent, disciplined ways to improve your walk with the Lord!
