Other “Clobber Passages” Un-Clobbered

This devotion explains the rude lies about verses that people call "Clobber Verses."

We discussed Romans 1 (here), so let's discuss
the other passages people are now calling “clobber passages.” Why are we discussing these things? Because we need to be prepared to respond to false teachings.

✔ In Genesis 19:1-38 the men of Sodom and Gomorrah demand to have sex with the men visiting Lot. Yet gay revisionists claim the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was not homosexuality, but being inhospitable.

See False Teachings about Sodom and Gomorrah.

✔  Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 clearly prohibit same-gender sex acts. But gay revisionists claim these Old Testament laws don't apply to Christians and/or they claim they only condemn abusive sex acts. However, since the New Testament clearly condemns homosexual behavior, the first argument is pointless. And nothing in the context of these passages limits the behavior to abuse.

See False Teachings about Leviticus 18:22

✔ 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and Timothy 1:9-10 clearly condemn all homosexual behavior. But gay revisionists claim these passages only address abusive sexual behavior. They also claim the word homosexual isn't found in Scripture.

Please see Don't Overlook Verse 11 and The Word Homosexual in Scripture which prove these gay revisionist claims are baseless.

Jude 1:7 says, “Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

Gay revisionists claim this only refers to the one incident of attempted gang rape, not the cities' acceptance of homosexuality. But the Greek lists sexual immorality and perversion separately and describes perversion as "unnatural" sex acts, which is similar to the description of homosexuality in Romans 1.

Basically, gay revisionists see God as a terrible communicator and they see Scripture as a puzzle that says one thing but means another.
