4 Things That Happen When We Fail to Repent

1 John 1:5-10 explains 4 things that happen when we fail to repent. It's wise to heed these warnings. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

First John 1:5-10 explains four things that happen when we fail to confess our sins:

1. We lose close fellowship with God – 1 John 1:5-7.

This doesn’t mean we lose our salvation or God’s love, but we allow sin to distance us from God. See I’m Not Listening.

2. We damage our lives and our witness – 1 John 1:6.

We either confess and repent of sin, or accept and commit sin. See Man on Fire.

3. We live a lie – 1 John 1:8.

We become self-deceived and weaken our conscience. See Unconscionable.

4. We call God a liar – 1 John 1:10.

This alone is reason to repent! See Sin and Typewriters.

Let's respond to God's wonderful promises:

1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

Psalm 86:5: "For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you."
