Good Judge, Bad Judge

Despite the love and help he’s given, a man commits multiple crimes without remorse. 

When caught, he always denies his guilt, mocks the judge, and refuses to change. He eventually commits a brutal murder. 

Judge #1 hears his case, carefully verifies the man's guilt, and gives him life in prison. 

Judge #2 hears his case, verifies the man's guilt, frees the man, and honors him as a good citizen.

Which is the good judge? 

Those who believe in “universal salvation” believe Judge #2 is the good judge and Judge #1 is evil. They insist that a good God wouldn’t send anyone to hell. 

Actually, God goes even further than Judge #1: He offers to take our punishment for us if we repent and follow Him (John 3:16). 

The bottom line of universal salvation is this belief: nothing we do makes us unworthy of heaven.(1)   

The bottom line of biblical Christianity is this belief: nothing we do makes us worthy of heaven (Romans 3:12; Romans 3:23; Galatians 6:7). Our only hope is accepting the redemption of Christ.

John 3:18: "Whoever believes in [Jesus] is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."(2)

(2) Do you know the full context of the beloved verse John 3:16? It is one of many passages that prove that universal salvation is not a biblical belief. To believe universal salvation, you must pull 2-3 verses out of context and ignore hundreds of others.

John 3:16-21: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God."
