The Truest Form of Worship

Do you know what the truest form of worship is? It might surprise you that it's not singing or worshiping in a church service. This 1-minute devotion explains.

I wonder if obedient feet aren't the greatest form of worship…

When you mention worship, we Christians typically think of music in a church service. And we judge the quality of the worship by the style of music, the lyrics, and the presentation.

No one would deny that we can worship God when we sing songs of praise.
But our definition of worship is too narrow.

Scripture gives us the true picture of spiritual worship:

“I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” Romans 12:1

Giving our bodies as a living sacrifice means doing whatever it takes to obey and follow Christ's plan for our lives. It means denying ourselves in order to serve the Lord (Matthew 16:24-25). It means we quit conforming to our culture and let God transform our hearts and minds (Romans 12:2).

In truth, the highest form of worship is not songs of praise, it's obedient feet (Isaiah 52:7; Romans 10:15).
