Hindu Karma Isn't Biblical

4 Reasons Karma is not a Biblical concept. Don't get Hindu Karma confused with reaping what you sow. This 1-minute devotion gives clear Scriptural guidance. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

"Karma means I can rest easy at night knowing all the people I treated badly had it coming."

When I saw this quote, I realized it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but it actually shows the inconsistency of Hindu karma.

Karma is the belief that a man's behavior in one life determines his circumstances when reincarnated in his next life.

Karma sounds like this biblical principle:

“A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:7-8

But it's not the same.

The Bible is clear:

1. We live once and are judged once. There's no reincarnation.
(Hebrews 9:27-28
See Oh, Really and 3 Reasons Reincarnation is not Compatible with Christianity.

2. We reap what we sow, but sometimes usually not until heaven.
(Galatians 6:9; John 16:33)

3. People don't always deserve their difficulties.
(1 Corinthians 4:5)
See What Did they Do to Deserve this?

4. But praise God for the biggest difference between karma and Christianity: GRACE!
(Romans 6:23)

Let's thank God that when we trust Christ, we definitely don't get what we deserve!

  5. I think a lot of people try to retell their version of the Bible using others beliefs or religions...another way that Satan attempts to muddy the water so speak and add perceptions and innuendo's that God never said. Thank you for for your study today. It's helping me evaluate what else I cross contaminate.

  7. Hi ewen,
Hindu Karma is the belief that everything that happens in our lives is the result of something bad or good we did in a previous life. It not only differs from Christianity because the Bible teaches we only live one life here on earth, but also because the Bible does not promise complete justice until heaven and through the grace of Jesus, those of us who believe in Jesus will not get what we deserve but we will get eternal life through Christ.

  10. It's definitely wonderful to know, we have a God who loves us dearly and that in Christ Jesus we are cleansed of our sins. God, our heavenly Father is sooo different from all other gods!!! Enough reason for thankfulness!!!

  11. I don't believe in karma. I don't want others to be harmed back what they did to me. My mother always says to me. Do not wish bad at others for their actions. I added more what she said. Pray to God for what has happened if someone else hurted you..I thought about the verse Mark 12:31
'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."We must pray for them. God will helps us with any situation we go through.
