Propaganda Always Hides the Obvious and Highlights the Unlikely

Propaganda, out of necessity, must focus on side issues to conceal it's real goals and purposes.
The propaganda series is designed to help Christians understand and address current cultural claims from a biblical perspective.

Romans 1:28-32* aptly describes worldly propaganda which hides the obvious and highlights the unlikely.

Facts in the U.S.:
🗸 Since the 1800s abortion has been legal to save the life of the mother.
🗸 98.5% of abortions are done for convenience, to spare women from financial or relationship difficulties, or simply because they don’t want more children.
🗸 1.5% of abortions are done for rape or incest (source).

But pro-abortion advocates focus on rape, incest, and the “health” of the mother.

Rape and incest are evil, but killing the innocent baby doesn't bring justice or healing. And rape and incest aren't the reasons pro-abortion advocates want abortion legal. They want completely unrestricted abortion as proved by their opposition to the born alive law. (Read about that here.)

By supporting unrestricted abortion, they affirm a woman's right to kill her baby so she can have extra vacation money, so she can fit into her favorite dress for a class reunion, or so she doesn't have to go through the hassle of arranging for her child to be put into a loving adoptive home.

Pro-abortion propaganda doesn't admit that their real goal is reflected in the 98.5% who kill babies to make their lives easier despite the free programs available to women with legitimate difficulties.

They claim to care about women while enabling them to make the greatest mistakes of their lives. But remnant believers are compelled by our love for women, for babies, and for Christ, and we won't remain silent (Proverbs 24:11-12.)*

People who justify abortion today would have justified slavery 200 years ago. See Would You Have Justified Slavery? and Two Decisions. I also encourage you to watch these three-minute videos: Abortion Can Be Medically Necessary and Abortion in Cases of Rape.

Regarding incest, according to some studies, a pregnancy proves there is abuse and puts an end to it whereas abortion simply covers it up so it can continue. In addition, adding an abortion to the abuse may seem like a quick fix, but it often brings more pain, not less.

Romans 1:28-32: “Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.”

Proverbs 24:11-12: “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, ‘But we knew nothing about this,’ does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?

  1. In Queensland, Australia, after much lobbying, a law was recently introduced called the Babies Born Alive Bill, whereby aborted babies who survive have to be given medical care, not left to die. Not surprisingly, this was initiated by a Christian politician. The other 7 states haven't followed yet, but there's hope.

    1. I'm glad to hear that, Bev.
We currently have that law in the U.S., but it barely passed, and our Vice President said it was terrible that it passed. Pro-abortion advocates and law makers can claim to have compassion, but I'm not sure how anyone could vote against helping a baby gasping for breath. That's just plain evil.
